OH! BREMEN is a bakery café located by Yeongildae Beach in Pohang, South Korea. Its name and concept take inspiration from the Brothers Grimm’s fairy tale The Town Musicians of Bremen. Grid focused on the story’s imaginative spirit and the way it diverges from a familiar narrative structure. Although the musicians set out for Bremen, they never arrive—and we began to imagine the next movement they might have composed instead.
The identity of OH! BREMEN is a proposal to unfold the structure and rhythm of a story into everyday space. The café’s lively energy, fresh food, and richly layered interiors echo the irregular rhythm of the musicians—creating a uniquely vibrant experience. Grid extended this sensibility across visual identity, packaging, signage, and digital applications, designing the entire café experience to flow organically in sync with the narrative’s rhythm. The resulting identity moves playfully between order and disorder—weaving together carousels, sea breeze, sunlight, and the scent of freshly baked bread into the rhythmic and everyday experience that defines OH! BREMEN.
